Tooth coloured fillings

Doing exactly what it says on the tin, fillings close a hole in the tooth that has been caused by decay or accidental damage. But whereas once upon a time, the traditional grey amalgam fillings were commonplace, new advances in modern materials and methods mean that we are proud to offer natural, tooth-coloured fillings instead – all carefully selected to match the original shade.

Numbing the tooth and its surrounding area with a local anaesthetic, we will then remove the decayed material from the tooth before cleaning, drying and filling it with the natural-colour material, which is then set very quickly with a special light and shaped, smoothed and polished into the most realistic and practical addition to your tooth.

Other benefits – aside from the obvious – include the fact that they:

  • Contain no mercury
  • Bond better to teeth – meaning less drilling
  • Cause less long-term fractures
  • Have less long-term sensitivity
