Routine check-ups and hygiene appointments
Prevention is better than cure, and regular examinations are vital in ensuring you keep on top of your dental health. We recommend having a check-up every six months, where you will receive a thorough oral examination, to ensure that any problems are caught early on and treated when they are still mild.
One of our leading dentists will conduct a full examination of your mouth, gums, tongue, throat, jaw, muscles and salivary glands, as well as evaluating your overall risk of tooth decay and gum disease. X-rays will also be taken at routine intervals to help assess for any signs of decay. They will also look out for any indications of oral cancer.
More than just a scale and polish, our highly-skilled dentists will clean your teeth professionally using both hand instruments and ultrasonic scales – removing any plaque (bacteria that forms on the surface of and in between teeth) and tartar (hardened plaque) that is not reached by brushing and flossing – before enjoying a thorough polish with a special paste to remove any stubborn stains.
Plaque and tartar that is not removed can cause gum disease which, if left untreated, can cause receding gums, loose teeth and infections – as well as more serious health issues such as heart disease, diabetes and strokes. Catching gum disease in its early stages is important because it usually begins without symptoms, but progresses rapidly into periodontitis, which is when the inflammation reaches the bone and, if left untreated, can result in tooth loss. Factors such as smoking, poor health and incorrect brushing can all lead to gum disease, and our dentists are trained to spot the signs of incorrect brushing and help you correct your daily routine in a personalised way to help suit your particular dental needs. It’s important to remember that although gum disease is extremely common, it is also easily preventable, and it’s because of this that regular hygiene appointments are vital.

"Very happy to have this practice as my new dentist. Friendly and professional staff (Dentist, Hygienist and Receptionist) who explain things well and it's very clean and comfortable surgery.
Extended opening hours are very handy for fitting around work. Just make sure you are very punctual or they might make you re-book (which they were very apologetic for and is totally understandable)."Read more testmonials
"Very professional and pleasant service. Couldn't be happier about the treatment I've had so far. Fantastic surgery and very clean, and all this is coming from 31 year old male who's scared of dentists! I will be using them as my regular dentist from now on."Read more testmonials
"I visited the surgery after experiencing violent pains with my wisdom tooth. I was able to obtain a same day emergency appointment. I arrived at the surgery and sat down for about 30 seconds before I was seen by a dentist who made me feel very comfortable and explained exactly what they were going to check for. After a brief analysis they concluded that I had an infection at my wisdom tooth. All in all it was a good visit, would highly recommend to friends and family."Read more testmonials
